Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 September 2026
This page explains what personal information Bobby's Window Cleaning collects when you ask us for a quote or book a clean, what we do with it, and what your rights are. We keep it to what we actually do, in plain English.
The short version
- We collect your details so we can quote for, book and carry out your window cleaning.
- We only use them to run that service and to stay in touch about it. We do not sell your information.
- You can ask to see it, correct it or have it deleted at any time by getting in touch.
1. Who we are
Bobby's Window Cleaning is a family-run window cleaning business covering West Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey, run by Jack. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Bobby's Window Cleaning. We are the "data controller" for the personal information described below, which means we decide how and why it is used.

2. The information we collect
When you enquire or book with us, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your phone number (including your WhatsApp number if you message us there)
- Your email address
- Your address and postcode, so we can check we cover your area and find the property
- Property and job details, such as the type of property, the services you want, whether you would like a regular round or a one-off clean, and any access notes you give us (a locked side gate, a dog, high windows and so on)
- Booking details, such as visit dates, the work carried out, the price agreed and any payments made
- Anything you write to us, in a form, a chat message, a text, an email or a WhatsApp message
We do not ask for sensitive information such as health details, and we do not need you to send any. Please do not include it in your messages.
3. How we collect it
- Our website quote form, when you fill it in and send it.
- Our website chat assistant, if you type details into it.
- Facebook and Instagram lead ads. If you fill in a form on one of our ads, Meta passes the details you entered (usually your name, phone number and email address, and sometimes your postcode or the answers to our questions) to us so we can reply. See section 8.
- Phone calls, texts, emails and WhatsApp, when you contact us directly.
- Visits to your property, where we note anything we need to do the job properly.
4. What we use it for, and why
| What we do | Our lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Reply to your enquiry, check your area, prepare and send a quote | Taking steps at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries |
| Book and carry out your cleans, keep a record of the work and what you owe | Performing our contract with you |
| Send reminders about upcoming visits, and contact you about your booking | Performing our contract with you |
| Follow up an enquiry you made through a Facebook or Instagram lead ad | Your request for a quote, and our legitimate interest in replying to it |
| Keep accounting, tax and insurance records | Legal obligation |
| Keep our website and chat assistant working and secure | Legitimate interest |
We only contact you about your enquiry, your booking or the service we provide to you. If you ask us to stop contacting you, we will.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information or give it to anyone for their own marketing. We only share it with the services we use to run the business, and only what they need:
- Formspree, which delivers the details you type into our website quote form to us by email.
- Meta (Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp), if you contact us through those platforms or fill in one of our lead ad forms.
- An AI service provider that powers the website chat assistant. Messages you type into the chat are sent to it so it can reply.
- Our website host and website provider, who keep the site online and working.
- Our accountant, bank or payment provider, where needed to keep financial records or take payment.
- The authorities or our insurers, only if the law requires it or we need to deal with a claim.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that is the case, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place for international transfers, such as the UK's approved transfer arrangements.
6. Cookies and similar technology
Our website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not track you around the web.
If you use the chat assistant, your conversation is saved in your own browser (in "local storage") so it is still there if you come back. It stays on your device, and you can clear it with the clear button in the chat or by clearing your browser data.
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and, on some pages, map images from a map provider. When they load, those services can see your IP address, as with any website that uses them. Links to WhatsApp, Google Maps and Google reviews take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not go ahead: we keep them for a limited time in case you come back to us, then delete them.
- Customers: we keep your details for as long as we are cleaning for you, and afterwards for as long as we need to for our accounting, tax and legal obligations.
- Chat messages stay in your own browser until you clear them.
If you would like your details deleted sooner, ask us. We will do it unless the law requires us to keep something.
8. Facebook and Instagram lead ads
We run adverts on Facebook and Instagram that let you ask for a quote without leaving the app. When you submit one of these forms, the details you entered are collected by Meta and passed to us. Meta handles your information under its own privacy policy, which you can read at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
Once we receive your details, we look after them under this policy. We use them to reply to your quote request, and for nothing else. If you would like us to delete the details you sent through an ad, just contact us.
9. Keeping it safe
We keep your details in password-protected accounts and devices, and only the people who need them to do the job can see them. Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No online system is completely risk-free, but we take sensible steps to protect what you give us.
10. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to how we use it
- ask for the information you gave us in a portable format
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To use any of these, email or call us using the details below. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
11. Children
Our services are for property owners and occupiers. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
